André 3000 – Something Is Happening and I May Not Fully Understand But I’m Happy… [Video]
André 3000 leans even deeper into his post-“New Blue Sun” zone with a new visual for his “TRAИƧA” contribution, “Something Is Happening and I May Not Fully Understand But I’m Happy to Stand for the Understanding”.
The 26-minute piece is his sprawling, mostly instrumental composition for “TRAИƧA“, a concept compilation put together by Red Hot Org, and it plays like one long, slow exhale – flutes, woodwinds and improvisation instead of bars, more trance than traditional song structure.
The track lives on “TRAИƧA“, a 46-song album released in November 2024 that’s framed as a spiritual journey celebrating trans people and the wider trans community. Built in eight chapters that mirror the stripes of the original pride flag, the project brings together over 100 artists – many of them trans and non-binary – alongside high-profile allies like André 3000, Sade, Sam Smith, Moses Sumney, Fleet Foxes and more. Proceeds are directed to LGBTQ+ organizations and trans-affirming work.
The new video, directed by Lambkin, stretches the full length of the song and leans into its meditative energy: black-and-white, abstract and unhurried, drifting through images of animals, fences, butterflies and shifting landscapes that blur the line between organic and digital space.
It’s less a conventional clip and more a moving installation piece, inviting you to sit with the music, the visuals, and the project’s core intention – centering and celebrating trans lives – for the full half hour. Hit play below, clear some time, and step into the “TRAИƧA” universe.
