Polo G feat. G Herbo – Gangsta Graduation [Video]

Polo G taps fellow Chicago heavyweight G Herbo for “Gangsta Graduation”, a brand new single from the “Hood Poet: Black Heart Edition” era – the upcoming deluxe extension of his 2024 album “Hood Poet“.

Produced by OZ and Charley Cooks, the track is three minutes of cold-focus storytelling, framing survival like a diploma you only get if you live long enough to see the ceremony.

Over ominous melodies and heavy drums, Polo G moves in a melodic, half-sung cadence, talking about blood on the pavement, courtroom shock, and the kind of scars that don’t fade just because the money did. He keeps circling back to the hook – “I graduated from Gangsta School” – like somebody who’s out of the line of fire but still drives through the old neighborhood with his head on a swivel. G Herbo answers with a vicious year-by-year rundown of his come-up, walking you from daily drills to condos in L.A., family, relapse, loss and multi-million runs, all in one breathless verse that really feels like a street résumé.

The “Gangsta Graduation” video, co-directed by Diamond Visuals and Polo G, leans into that tension rather than trying to glamorize it. A performance-heavy, street-level clip that keeps the focus on the rappers’ presence and the weight of what they’re saying instead of a glossy storyline.

As a preview of “Hood Poet: Black Heart Edition”, the record feels like a mission statement: darker, more reflective, and laser-focused on the cost of “making it” in the first place. Hit play on “Gangsta Graduation” and get ready for the next chapter in Polo G’s “Hood Poet” universe.
