Homeboy Sandman – These Titles Are Getting Pretty Silly AKA Can’t Sell 4 [Mixtape]
Homeboy Sandman’s “Can’t Sell” universe just expanded again.
The Queens wordsmith drops “These Titles Are Getting Pretty Silly AKA Can’t Sell 4”, a 20-track mixtape that keeps his ridiculous 2025 run rolling and lands on Bandcamp as a name-your-price release.
Building on “I Can’t Sell These”, “I Can’t Sell These Either” and “Nor Can These Be Sold (At Least By Me)”, Sandman is once more in full anti-commercial mode – doing what he does best over whatever music moves him. The opener “Stop Hating” rides a loop from Arthur Conley’s “Sweet Soul Music” and sets the tone: dusty soul, big drums and Boy Sand turning life lessons into knotty, conversational rhyme schemes.
From there, the tape barely touches the brakes. “Look Alive” feels like a mission statement, Sandman weaving dense multis over a crisp, jazzy groove. “Popular”, “Privileged and Elite” and “On a Roll” skewer clout-chasing, groupthink and empty success metrics without ever sounding preachy – the kind of grown-man rap that still swings. When guests do appear, they’re chosen with care: Blu & Oh No crash through “Tornado”, while Deca floats alongside him on “Goody Goody Gumdrops”, all of them locking into beats that feel like unearthed gems from a crate-digging session.
It’s another reminder why Sandman’s “can’t sell” projects are cult favorites: no algorithms, no compromises, just a wildly creative MC finding new pockets on beats he probably has no business clearing. Hit play on “These Titles Are Getting Pretty Silly AKA Can’t Sell 4” below and grab the full mixtape (and that accompanying tee) directly from Bandcamp if you’re rocking with it.
