Pink Siifu is deep into another creative run and isn’t easing up.

“G CHECK’!” is one of the standout moments on his new album “ONYX’!”, which arrives as the fresh batch of songs inside the deluxe edition “BLACK’!ANTIQUE; ONYX’!“, the extended version of his fourth solo album “BLACK’!ANTIQUE”.

Produced by longtime collaborator ConQuest Tony Phillips, the track taps into a grimy, low-slung boom-bap pocket – all rumbling bass, snapped snares and that hazy, paranoid atmosphere Siifu wears better than almost anyone right now.

Lyrically, Siifu is in full guard-up mode: this is chest-out energy, checking intentions, drawing lines, and reminding anyone listening that nothing about his world is for play. He doesn’t shout to get the point across – it’s that laid-back Southern drawl, half muttered, half barked, slipping in little details and threats between the cracks of the beat. The hook hits like somebody tapping your forehead: simple, repetitive, and designed to live in your head long after the song fades.
