Lola Brooke – iight bet! [EP]

Brooklyn’s own Lola Brooke is back outside with “iight bet!”, a seven-track EP that feels like a sharp reset and a victory lap at the same time.

The project lands via Arista / Team Eighty, runs a tight 18 minutes, and marks her first full drop since her 2023 debut album “Dennis Daughter” and the runaway success of “Don’t Play With It.”

On “iight bet!”, Lola doubles down on the things that made her a problem in the first place: husky, in-your-face delivery, Brooklyn slang flying everywhere, and hooks that sound like they were written to echo off project hallways. “WASSUP WIT IT” and “Get Money” set the tone early – cold bass, skittering drums, and a throwback NYC energy that nods to the 2000s without feeling stuck there. Records like “Excuse Me” and “WHAT!!!” are pure talk-your-talk moments, all chest out and chipped-shoulder charisma.

But she’s not just barking. The back half cuts deeper. “Pain” flips Mary J. Blige’s “No More Drama” into a breakup anthem about refusing to sit in heartbreak any longer – Lola has said herself it’s about packing up the crying and moving on. “Invest” with N3WYRKLA slides into a smoother R&B pocket without losing any grit, while “It Was All A Dream” turns the title into a Biggie-style rags-to-riches moment, tracing the jump from unpaid hustle to paying her mom’s bills off rap.

Front to back, “iight bet!” plays like Lola Brooke in full control: sharper, more personal, and still talking heavy for Brooklyn every chance she gets.
