Homeboy Sandman – Privileged And Elite [Audio]

“Privileged and Elite” is Homeboy Sandman in broadcast-to-the-diehards mode—a brand-new loosie he dropped straight to Patreon and Bandcamp.

He recorded the track the day before posting it and loved it enough to consider a quick Bandcamp release, but decided instead to tuck it away for the next entry in his “Can’t Sell” mixtape series, leaving this early version as a reward “for those paying close attention.”

True to the “Can’t Sell” concept—projects built on beats he doesn’t own and therefore “can’t sell” properly—the song rides a Kanye West instrumental titled “Hit Symphony”, flipping that grand, symphonic feel into a platform for Sandman’s trademark heady, class-conscious writing. Even without an official wide release yet, it fits neatly into the arc he’s been on since Don’t Feed the Monster and the Rich series: conversational flow, sharp social framing, and a calm-but-cutting tone that takes aim at the systems that serve—yes—the privileged and elite.

For now, “Privileged and Elite” lives as a Patreon/Bandcamp-only deep cut, but Sandman has already promised it “proper shine” on the upcoming “Can’t Sell” tape. If you’ve been following his Bandcamp-only mixtapes and limited-run projects, this is exactly the kind of gem you’ll want to have queued up once that next installment finally drops.
