Conductor’s beat leans on jazzy horns and a menacing undercurrent, giving the record a dusty, cinematic feel that suits both rappers perfectly. Roc sets the tone early with slick, referential lines, while Conway answers in that measured, bulldozer cadence he’s known for, sounding every bit like someone gearing up for a statement album. “If You Can’t Kill God With Bullets” carries this level of craft front to back, “Diamonds” is a strong sign we’re in for one of Conway’s sharpest solo runs yet.
