Fresh off last year’s “Glad You Came“, Mario slides into a more intimate lane with his new EP “Mood Swings”.
Across eight tracks and 27 minutes, he rides a full relationship rollercoaster: the fizzy rush of the title track, the homesick pull of “Home”, bedroom worship on “Moan”, and the friends-turned-something-else tension of “Friends” with Ty Dolla $ign. Executive producer Dre Moon keeps everything plush and modern R&B — slow-knocking drums, soft synths, lots of space for Mario’s vocals to stretch.
“Still In Love” is the project’s emotional gut punch, echoing “How Do I Breathe” while admitting he’s still stuck on a past relationship, before closer “Nobody But Us” snaps back into committed, grown-romantic mode.It’s a compact, front-to-back listen that feels like exactly what the title promises: mood swings, but all in rich, late-night R&B color.
