Danny Brown feat. Underscores – Copycats [Video]
Danny Brown’s new single is a shot at the Industry, wrapped in chaos.
With “Copycats”, Danny Brown fires back at the clones. The track, taken from his upcoming album “Stardust” (out November 7 via Warp Records), features experimental pop disruptor Underscores — and together, they build something jagged, bold, and impossible to pin down.
The song is exactly what the title suggests: a callout. Brown rips through verses aimed at industry mimicry and creative laziness, while Underscores adds her glitchy, genre-bending edge. It’s a collaboration that feels unpredictable, but intentional.
Visually, the official video keeps things strange in the best way. Directed by Rollo Jackson and set in a limo rolling through Brooklyn, the camera captures a surreal mix of absurdity and clarity. Brown and Underscores move through it like they’ve seen too much to care — detached, sharp, and completely in control of their weird.
“Copycats” doesn’t follow trends. It doesn’t explain itself. And that’s the point. As a preview of Stardust, it sends a clear message: Danny Brown is still innovating, still pushing boundaries, and still miles ahead of the pack.
