SoulRocca – Distance The Mission / Smiley The Ghetto Child [EP]

The producer trio SoulRocca is back with a new EP, entering the next chapter in their unmistakable boom-bap journey.

Comprised of beatmakers Boogiedown Base, 12 Finger Dan, and Roccwell, the group presents two standout tracks: “Distance The Mission”, featuring Smiley The Ghetto Child, and “His Name Is” with the sharp, reflective wordplay of Wildelux.

SoulRocca’s signature production style remains firmly rooted in the essence of 90s hip-hop – a rich blend of soulful chops, crisp drums, and finely tuned turntablism. On “His Name Is”, Wildelux, who bridges the Bronx and Japan, brings depth and perspective, balancing raw lyricism with a worldly touch.

Boogiedown Base and 12 Finger Dan, also known under their long-running alias SOULBROTHA, have carved out a reputation for purist hip-hop craftsmanship, having collaborated with iconic figures like DJ Premier, Large Professor, and Blaq Poet.

Meanwhile, Munich-based Roccwell has made waves internationally with projects like “Still Lovin’ Boombap” and “Chocolate Bars”, the latter featuring heavyweight guests such as Masta Ace and Bahamadia alongside Harlem’s Emma Lee M.C.

This new release continues the momentum of the Hamburg-Munich connection – an EP that doesn’t chase trends but doubles down on timeless hip-hop values. With SoulRocca, it’s not about compromise – it’s about keeping the flame alive.
