Watch Amerie’s Tiny Desk Concert [Video]

Amerie brought an immediate surge of vibrant energy and a radiant smile to her Tiny Desk performance, perfectly setting the stage for an artist whose music truly captures the essence of summer with its bold rhythms, airy vocals, and limitless feel.

Her 2005 album, “Touch”, introduced go-go’s infectious rhythms to a wider audience. Originating in Washington, D.C., go-go is characterized by its layered percussion, funky basslines, and live instrumentation designed to ignite a crowd. These elements are a driving force in Amerie’s music, helping “1 Thing” stand out in a year packed with R&B hits.

Returning to Washington, D.C., where she once resided, Amerie presented a reimagined set alongside go-go legends Backyard Band. They kicked off the show with tracks from her debut album, “All I Have”, including “Talkin’ to Me” and the classic summer anthem “Why Don’t We Fall in Love.” She then transitioned into her latest single, “Mine”, and delivered the fan-favorite “I Just Died”, before unveiling a fresh take on “Rolling Down My Face” that’s sure to become a new favorite. By the time “Talkin’ About” began, Amerie was fully immersed in dancing. The set concluded with “1 Thing”, as she moved from behind the Tiny Desk to join the dance party, transforming the performance into a true celebration.
