Mathematics & Wu-Tang Announce New Album “Black Samson, The Bastard Swordsman”
Wu-Tang Clan fans rejoice! The iconic rap group is back after eight years with a new full-length album, “Black Samson, The Bastard Swordsman”.
Produced by Mathematics, the album features all nine Wu-Tang members and boasts guest appearances from Benny the Butcher, Kool G. Rap, Nicole Bus, and more. Mathematics, the legendary artist behind the Wu-Tang Clan logo (which cleverly doubles as his own when flipped), has crafted a unique release strategy. On Record Store Day (April 12, 2025), the album will initially drop as a limited edition 2LP vinyl set. Each of the 5,000 copies will feature a completely unique cover designed by Macroverse Media, making it a highly collectible item. Digital purchases will also be available later that month. This marks the first time in the vinyl record industry that an album has been released with no two covers alike. While the last Wu-Tang album, “Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues”, was released in 2017, it’s been over a decade (2014) since all nine members collaborated on a full Clan album. Mathematics describes the album as “more than music; it’s innovation, storytelling, and legacy all in one”, emphasizing the group’s history of pushing boundaries. He adds that this release is a piece of history and a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
