Flying Lotus – Ingo Swann [Audio]

Flying Lotus releases the brand-new single “Ingo Swann”, a musical shift sure to surprise fans. The single follows August’s “Garmonbozia“.

“Ingo Swann”, a shimmering house track, sounds unlike anything from Flying Lotus’s usual oeuvre. The title is inspired by the famous psychic of the same name, who, like FlyLo, mastered the astral plane. On “Ingo Swann”, such a projection becomes a euphoric journey, accompanied by warm synthesizers and a whirlwind of percussion. It’s an unexpected yet welcome turn from one of the most visionary minds in music.

While “Garmonbozia” and “Ingo Swann” are Ellison’s first singles since 2022’s “The Room“, his creative pursuits in recent years have expanded far beyond album releases and tours, establishing him as a true polymath. In addition to his iconic musical work, Ellison co-wrote, directed, and composed a segment for the acclaimed found-footage horror anthology “V/H/S 99”. Most recently, he wrapped filming on the sci-fi horror film “Ash”, starring Aaron Paul (“Breaking Bad”) and Eiza González (“3 Body Problem”), where he served as both director and composer. He also composed and produced the music for Netflix’s anime series “Yasuke” and created the theme for Apple’s Magic Johnson documentary “They Call Me Magic”.
