Donwill – Open Studio 001 [EP]

Tanya Morgan’s Donwill comes through with a new instrumental project titled “Open Studio 001”.

Here is a quick EP of music that I’ve put together for the launch of my Patreon. The cover art is me holding an orange that I peeled in one continuous strip. For some odd reason I’m pretty proud of this accomplishment. It’s nothing special I guess but as a creative you have to amuse yourself and I feel like that is exactly what this collection of music is about, amusing myself. ssample test and plug n play are songs where i was figuring out how to use new plugins and ended up making something cool enough to actually rap over. ii’m still figuring out raps for plugin play and when i do i’ll share it. straight outta cosplay is from the television show i had with wyatt cenac called night train. the premise was that since every show has a halloween episode we should too and it was loosely framed around my journey into cosplaying and the racism that black cosplayers experience. i created a mashup character that was a mix of eazy e and khaleesi from game of thrones called ‘khaleesi e’ and we wrote a song about it. jean grae, mc frontalot and black thought all were on the song as well which is incredible for a million reasons.
