The FADER caught up with Harlem rapper ASAP Ferg for a new episode of ‘Remember That Time’.
“The best thing the VMAs can do is sit us behind Lady Gaga and Will Smith,” A$AP Ferg explains in the latest installment of The FADER’s Remember That Time. “Every time you would see the [VMAs] camera pass Lady Gaga, you see Will Smith smiling, and Yams would [flip off the camera].” While that particular VMAs in 2013 is remembered more for Miley Cyrus’s infamous stage antics with Robin Thicke, A$AP Ferg’s recollection of the night is made up of more candid moments: the mob accidentally stealing an SUV and Birdman’s Louis Vuitton duffle bag, A$AP Rocky getting up on stage and screaming “Trap Lord out now!” and being swarmed by fans while stranded at the airport before ultimately deciding to take the MTA home.
