Eto joins forces with Gummy Soul producer Wally Clark for “Life/Bud Davis” the first songs off their upcoming joint project, “Mama’s Kitchen”.
These songs are only available on vinyl, so the only way to hear them, is to break out your record player and enjoy. For the real vinyl collectors. Coming off a string of killer releases including “Hell’s Roof”, a collaboration with hip hop legend, DJ Muggs, Eto and Clark have been working together to combine Eto’s incredibly vivid, gritty wordplay, with the smoother, Gummy Soul sound that Wally Clark is known for. The single’s A Side, “Life” uses haunting pianos and vocals cues that Eto seamlessly incorporates into his rhymes. The B Side, “Bud Davis” uses a surprising inspiration, a string of John Travolta references, over a funky yet psychedelic bassline and wailing vocals. It’s different sound that still compliments what you grown to love about the Rochester MC. The 7″ is available in three colors as well as a very limited amount of 8″ x 10″ prints of the cover art, shot by Denver’s Juan Fuentes.
