The musical journey of Sincerely Collins has always been rooted in the art of pure hip-hop and soul music. When it came to musical taste and knowledge, Collins was most influenced by his Grandparents and their oldies classics, that is until his uncle introduced him to the art of rap and the culture of hip hop at the age of 13 years old. Although “Sincerely II” is Collins 4th rap project, any loyal listener knows that the creativity put into his craft, as well as his fearless fusion of many musical textures, can hardly be filtered into a category of any kind. However, in this offering from Collins and his imprint, Better Different Visionary Group, it is immediately understood and made clear that hip-hop and rap is absolutely, without a doubt, the lane that Collins decided to drive in and STAY in for the entirety of the 7 song album. Sincerely Collins longtime friend and fellow Arizona heavyweight Bootleg Kev is featured on the tracks “Martin Talks Intro”, “Bronx Tail” and “Holy Moly, Holy Grail”, lending his voice as host and hype-man for the project. The presence that Bootleg Kev and his shameless & boastful commentary offer over the hard hitting, information packed raps that Collins slews offer a seemingly impossible balancing act of juxtaposition against the soul sampling sound beds provided entirely by Collins long time co-producer, Qux, as well as the visual interpretation depicted in the elegant and metaphorical album artwork. Sincerely II, as some could have guessed, is a sequel to the very first project introduced under the “Sincerely” stage name, which was also the beginning of the working relationship between Collins and Kev. Collins has mentioned that his sole purpose for the content on Sincerely II is to quite literally dismiss any questions as to whether or not he is a lyricist who’s craft solidifies him as the top runner “Bar for Bar” in his hometown of Phoenix, as well as poke at the now standing heavyweights for a chance at the crown.
