Finally, special thanks to my daughter Zola A’Zuri Devine Spaulding for being my muse and inspiration for this album. 2017 was a tough year for me personally and the world at large. Personally, I lost my car, my job and even my marriage. The world witnessed the election of arguably the worst presidential candidate in American history, multiple mass shooting, and extreme racism emboldened. But despite everything, we are still blessed. God is still God and everything happens according to His plan. I wanted this album to be a beacon of light and hope despite the personal and national trials and tribulations many of us have faced this year. I wanted to celebrate the “good news” instead of focusing on the bad.
