Talib Kweli Vs. Diabolic

Talib Kweli responds to Diabolic’s diss track “IneKwelity” with “You Tried It”.

Whenever there’s a war of words in Hip-Hop, fans and followers alike often ask for the involved parties to “put it on wax!” Well, that’s just what New York rapper Diabolic has done with “IneKwelity,” a searing stream of shots aimed squarely at nemesis, Talib Kweli. For those not keeping up with the tiff, the two crossed paths and eventually got into it on Twitter. And rather than handle the business through a conversation on the social networking platform, Kweli took to his Medium account to pen a takedown piece about Diabolic and others who he says suffer from alleged “white fragility.” Rightfully so, Diabolic wasn’t having it. And rather than let things play out as they had, he hit the booth to do what he does best: body his enemy with battle raps. Produced by Junior Makhno (Vinnie Paz & Ill Bill, Chief Kamachi), “IneKwelity” boasts a haunting instrumental that’s perfectly suited for Diabolic’s unrelenting stream of ruthless bars.

After mocking Black Star’s “Definition” chorus, he goes straight for the gut for nearly five minutes. Also, just to make sure none of his words are misunderstood or improperly cited, he’s provided the lyrics for “IneKwelity”—required reading if you’re following this story. “IneKwelity” is now available for stream, and can be downloaded through iTunes and all major digital retailers.
