Rhythm Roulette w/ Erick The Architect [Video]

Ask and you shall receive: Erick “The Architect” Elliott joins us on the latest episode of Rhythm Roulette.

Those who’ve charted the Flatbush Zombies’ rise over the past four years should be well acquainted with Señor Elliott, who’s doubled as producer and emcee for the enigmatic trio. And we can’t forget to mention his solo efforts prior to joining the crew full-time. From soulful to menacing, he’s a provider of vibes that always seem to elicit the best from whomever he works with.

After linking up at Brooklyn’s Human Head Records, we headed back to Erick’s studio, where he carefully excavated his three random selections—Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye’s Diana & Marvin, Amnsety’s Free Your Mind, and Jackson Five’s Dancing Machine—for hidden gems. Although he had to circumvent a few equipment malfunctions, Erick managed to sample a piece of each record, ultimately crafting a smooth instrumental fitting for an extended album outro.
