August Alsina gets personal on SKEE TV as he discusses the real life experiences that inspired “This Thing Called Life.” The New Orleans artist admits that “Song Cry” is about his struggle with fame and how that led to depression and thoughts of suicide. He says, “If you live in a world where you think fame stops every bad thing or it gives you complete happiness, you should revaluate life.” Alsina states that he hopes to be remembered as a relatable individual who made timeless music.
