Chance The Rapper Talks J. Cole & Busta Rhymes Collabs On “Surf” [Video]

Fresh off the Electric Brixton stage in London, England, Chicago artist Chance The Rapper spoke to DJ Semtex and broke down some of his favorite tracks off “Surf,” his collaborative album with Donnie Trumpet, Peter Cottontale, Greg Landfair Jr. and Nate Fox.

Together the five guys form The Social Experiment. “Surf” – which was released at the end of May – dropped as a free, surprise album, and when asked why, Chance says “it’s not meant to be for sale.” “I think it was just representative of something that, you know, was meant to be gifted,” he states after performing in front of a sold-out audience. During this interview he also talks about how he got a chance to collaborate with Busta Rhymes on “Slip Slide” (which also features B.O.B. & Janelle Monae) and J. Cole on “Warm Enough.” You even get a chance to hear from Peter Cottontale (another Chicago-based musician) and Ady Suleiman (who helped write “Slip Slide” and “Rememory” featuring Erykah Badu) as they share their thoughts on the project.
