Sheek Louch: “The LOX Is Underground But Still Mainstream” [Video]

“Shout out to EPMD, period. As a whole, if you love Hip-Hop, you know what it is already with EPMD,” Sheek Louch tells VladTV. We caught up with the “Mighty D-Block” lyricist while on the set of him and Erick Sermon’s track “Make Room” alongside Joell Ortiz, and he certainly took advantage of the opportunity to work with one of rap’s finest wordsmiths. As the clip moves along, Sheek reflects back on The L.O.X. benefiting from being in the “right spot at the right time,” and how although they’ve worked with R&B and Hip-Hop’s elite, he considers his group to be “underground but still mainstream.” Watch the video to learn how “The Bomb Squad” came about, and how Mary J. Blige – who was a new artist and touring at the time – took their music on the road with her and played it for Diddy. “‘Yo, I gotta meet these dudes, man,'” was Diddy’s reply. As Sheek says, the rest is history. Press play for more.
