It just so happened that Raekwon walked into RZA’s house one day, heard the “Criminology” beat first and claimed it as his own. That’s how Wu-Tang recorded back then, first come, first served. So much of hip-hop history could have been different if The Chef hadn’t called dibs on that beat before anyone else.
