Fresh off HipHopDX’s 10 Chicago Rappers You Should Watch For list, Vic Spencer is back and he is considering himself to be “The Investment”. The record is produced by the St. Louis Legend, Black Spade, taken away from his brother Tef Poe’s 2009 mixtape entitled The Redeemer. Seems like Vic has been heavily inspired by the St. Louis music scene as this is his 3rd record that he has dropped in a row where an artist was sampled from the Show Me State. “Tef Poe’s version always touched my soul” Spencer says respectfully. “With all that craziness that is happening down in Ferguson, it’s just a dope way to express how their city’s music culture is still making an impact on others such as myself.” Although this record is not about the city’s recent tragedies. This record is about how Vic is overlooked by his own city. And as Chicago continues to be unbalanced musically, Vic adds an extra ton to compete with the nation on “The Investment”.
