Jared Evan Details “Still Blue” With Statik Selektah; Debuts “Scene” [Video]

In about eight days, Jared Evan will be back on the scene when he drops his new collaborative effort with Statik Selektah Still Blue. This is the sequel to his critically-acclaimed project with the famed producer, Boom Bap & Blues, which put the former Interscope Recording artist back on the map. In this exclusive sit-down with STASHED, the New York-native details exactly why it was important for him to link back up with Statik Selektah and continue the series. “We saw what the first one did and it’s not like [Boom Bap & Blues] was an Acid Rap or blew up insanely overnight,” explains Jared, “But as a starting from scratch independent artist, it kind of did do that. It just made people who I am once and for all and now we can’t stop that momentum.” Still Blue, which hits the net on October 28th, is the first of many projects coming from Evan in the coming months. He also plans to continue working with illMIND as well as doing his own thing. “I want [my fans] to take away that there is more dimensions. When I’m alone by myself producing the records or I’m with illMIND and I’m making more introspective very personal records; I want them to know if they haven’t heard that yet, it does exist,” says Jared. In the background of this interview, we give you an exclusive teaser and preview of one of the songs off of Jared’s Still Blue called “Scene,” which is produced by the artist and additional scratches from Statik. Check out the full interview and check out Still Blue when it drops on October 28th.
