Vice Souletric – Cleveland Anthem (O-H UH-OH) [Video]

DEFEND THE LAND is the movement and Vice Souletric’s new Cleveland Anthem, “O-H UH-OH” is the theme song. This fire track produced by the legendary NOTTZ (Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Notorious B.I.G., Pusha T, Scarface, J Dilla) arrives just in time for another Cleveland Cavaliers playoff push. However, with the Indians back in action and the Browns coming off what many to believe to be a stellar draft, this anthem adds fuel to an already buzzing and promising future for all of Cleveland sports.

Vice Souletric – Testify [Video]

“Testify” is the lead single to Vice Souletric’s upcoming EP, “T.R.A.P. (The Reality of All People)”. The hard-hitting single is the first offering since Vice’s 2016 debut LP, “Vice for President” and reveals the Ohio artist’s evolution from simply spitting rhymes to touching on emotions through well-crafted music. Vice’s last LP, “Vice For President 2”, highlighted Vice’s skills behind the mic and behind the boards with some of Hip Hop’s most respected names such as Talib Kweli, Skyzoo, Rapper Big Pooh and more. The “T.R.A.P.” project will reveal Vice’s ability to work with multiple producers, leading off with “Testify”, produced by See See Beats. The visuals for “Testify”, shot by Chem Vision and directed by Big Mos, find Souletric hidden away in a Hip Hop trap house, with CDs and merchandise taking the place of illegal contraband. The setting is fitting for the hard working Ohio emcee, who proudly boasts, “I rep Cleveland cause we dem boyz. Believeland dawg. We don’t take a season off.”

Vice Souletric – No Tomorrow [Video]

Equal parts throwback and modern, “No Tomorrow” is a soulful, undeniable banger from rapper-producer Vice Soulectric. It also just so happens to be the driving force behind his latest video. Fresh off last Friday’s release of ‘Vice For President 2’ LP, Vice teamed up with fellow Buckeye State resident Ced Lynch for these sharp, stylish visuals. They center on the artist’s hustle, as we catch glimpses of his writing process, samplechopping skills, and moments in the studio laying down vocal tracks. It’s all in a day’s work for Vice aka “Clark Kent with the dark tint.” But there are moments of reflection, too, as the video is dedicated to the memories of Theresa Tillman and Ezra Gatewood, two family members Vice lost last year. We also see footage of what appears to be his young doppelgänger, a nod to the fact that for us to truly be happy with life, we need to retain that childlike wonder. ‘Vice For President 2’ is now available on iTunes and all other major digital retailers and streaming services, through Vice’s United Grind imprint.

Vice Souletric – Vice For President 2 [Album Stream]

“There is a lane for innovative, boom-bap hip-hop—and that’s what I’m about.” Those are the words of rising rapper-producer Vice Souletric, whose new album, ‘Vice For President 2,’ proves that you can improve on a classic blueprint while making it your own. The Lorain, Ohio native doesn’t waste a second on the record’s 11 tracks, which range from brief and powerful (“T.A.M.I.R.,” an ode to the horrific killing of young Tamir Rice by a police officer) to mellow and boastful (the Skyzoo-assisted “Stayin’ Out The Way”). And you’ll surely recognize that versatility on opening track “iRap,” a confident banger with thick, G-funk bass and a Dr. Dre-sampling hook via DJ NuEra. Other standouts include lead single “Return Of The Black Man,” a fierce war cry featuring Talib Kweli, G. Huff, and Will Blaze, and the aptly titled “Respect The Legends” featuring King Magnetic. The latter is also the only track that Vice didn’t produce himself, as he landed the chance to spit over a 9th Wonder beat. The result is an ill dedication to Hip-Hop, which Vice drove home in speaking on the project. “This album lets people know that I am serious and committed to contributing to the Hip-Hop culture through music,” he said. “I’m not going anywhere.” While the remainder of the record is mostly a solo outing, don’t sleep on the features from Rapper Big Pooh and HiJinks’ appearance on the Native Tongues’esque “EIO.” The latter also shows up for “90s Sumthin,” a cut you’ll need on

Vice Souletric feat. King Magnetic – Respect The Legends [Audio]

“Respect The Legends” is timeless, raw Boom bap from Vice Souletric and guest King Magnetic, who pay homage to the greatest to ever do it on the final single off ‘Vice for President 2.’ And it’s only right that they’re showin’ love over one hell of a slapper from the legendary 9th Wonder. In addition to being one of the albums standouts, the track also highlights Vice’s versatility on the mic. Whereas preceding singles “Return Of the Black Man” and “Stayin’ Out the Way” tackled social issues and technical abilities, respectively, “Respect The Legends” is an honest look into what makes Hip-Hop so amazing. It may be one of the youngest genres in music, but it’s already birthed a number of unmovable giants ranging from Big Daddy Kane, to the late Sean Price, to Kendrick Lamar (all of whom get shout outs, among many others). Vice also gives proper attention to Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, and other gifted female emcees before ethering any dude who thinks otherwise: “Let me spell it out like Aretha/ Brothas probably mad because they can’t give them the urethra.” Ouch. Vice’s new album, ‘Vice For President 2: There’s No Tomorrow Til You Wake Up’ is due out Feb. 26 through his own United Grind imprint.

Vice Souletric feat. Skyzoo – Stayin’ Out The Way [Audio]

Hip-Hop double-threat Vice Souletric showcases his effortless cool on laid-back new single, “Stayin’ Out The Way” with some help from Brooklyn wordsmith, Skyzoo. In discussing the creation of the track for his new LP, ‘Vice For President 2,’ Vice said that he “wanted to present a really chill, lounge vibe so I hit up the coolest cat I know, Skyzoo.” Indeed, whether on his own or as a guest feature, Sky brings that a swagger all his own. And he puts it on full display with a slick-talkin’ first verse that perfectly complements Vice’s head-noddin’ instrumental. The chilled-out vibe translates into more than just a solid addition to your weekend playlist, though. There are a number of tack-sharp bars on here, especially during Vice’s verse. In addition to nods to Tevin Campbell and Floetry, he dishes out a line any ‘80s and ‘90s sports fan is sure to memorize: “You really can’t hold a candle up against (Warren) Moon and Randall (Cunningham)/ And what you see me rockin’ and rollin’ gon’ make you scramble.” Stay on the lookout for ‘Vice For President 2: There’s No Tomorrow Til You Wake Up,’ which drops Feb. 26 through Vice’s own United Grind imprint.

Vice Souletric feat. Talib Kweli, G. Huff & Will Blaze – Return of The Black Man [Audio]

Rapper-producer Vice Souletric returns today with “Return Of The Black Man”, a call-to-arms banger from the proud Ohioan and his guests., Talib Kweli, crooner Will Blaze, and frequent collaborator, G. Huff. The powerful single is also his first offering from the soon-coming “Vice for President 2”, a full-length project set to drop on February 26. And if “Return Of The Black Man” is any indication, it’ll be the multi-talented artist’s finest effort to date. Backed by his own heavy instrumental, Vice and his guests go in on what it’s like to be a Black man in America. That includes Huff questioning the double-standard of folks acting “like these white boys don’t wear tattoos and sag” along with Kweli noting the “system’s assassination of the Black male image.” But it’s Vice’s opening verse that hits the hardest, especially when he spits “I know you sick of hearin’ about it, but man look/ We sick and tired of being mistreated and ambushed.” “Vice For President 2: There’s No Tomorrow Til You Wake Up” is due out Feb. 26 through Vice’s own United Grind imprint.
