Needless to say once they got that opportunity, they more than made the most of it. The iconic duo’s very first album went double platinum, worked with legendary yet still some how under appreciated at times Hurby “Love Bug” who was the man behind a lot of our favorite acts from that time like: Kid n Play and Doug E Fresh on their way to having a tremendous impact. From the jump, they were meant to stand out and never shied away especially after dropping “Showstopper” which quickly got the attention of two other greats in Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick. But, it showed that hunger to be the best very early on, it’s cool to see that same tenacity in a younger generation from our Friday Fire Cypher hyenas to Keysha Freshh, Rapsody, 3D Natee and of course Nicki who has also been able to cross effortlessly into Pop but still have something in the arsenal for fans of the BARS.
