Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: Rich Medina – Fuck The Police [Video]

Bling47 takes you on a journey into samples used by J Dilla. Filmed, edited and animated and directed by Waajeed. Big tune! To say the least. Great memories on this one. Sick rhymes, rugged beat… Perfect combo. Chief party rocker Rich Medina covers this one and briefly touches on his search for that crazy drum loop. Take it away Rich. Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: Rich Medina – History [Video]

Bling47 Breaks takes you on a journey into samples used by J Dilla. Filmed, edited and animated and directed by Waajeed. My convo got heavy with Rich as we spoke about how Dilla’s sound changed in his latter years. There were some strong points made on both sides. That said, we touched on Jay’s chop of Mary Wells, “Two Lovers History”. Check the convo and to our newsletter subscribers check your inbox. We sent you some treats. Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: Rich Medina – Oblighetto [Video]

Bling47 Breaks takes you on a journey into samples used by J Dilla. Filmed, edited and animated and directed by Waajeed. We make another stop in Philly this week with my close friend Rich Medina. We spoke about a remix I slept on for years, “Oblighetto” by Brother Jack McDuff. I always knew about the record from sampling it on my own but somehow I managed to overlook Dilla’s take on it. When I saw the 45 I flipped – “A fucking 45!” Wow! Rich always had to nack to shock me with records and his extensive knowledge of them. In our convo he made some interesting points. Peep it. – Jeedo Previously: Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: Black Milk – Shake It Down [Video]

Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: Rich Medina – Hot Shit [Video]

Bling47 Breaks takes you on a journey into samples used by J Dilla. Filmed, edited, animated and directed by Waajeed. This week’s Bling47 Breaks takes us to Philly with the one and only Rich Medina. Rich is a master DJ and shit talker. Some folks know him for his appearance on Smirnoffs Master of the Mix, but his loyal NYC following knows him from his nine-year stint at APT with DJ Akalepse, or as an ambassador for afrobeat at Jump and Funk. I couldn’t wait to connect with him in his Philly bungalow to record him doing what he does best. He’s been crafting dance floors for over 20 years and still going strong. Rich is easily one of the most intelligent dudes I’ve had the honor to call my friend and confidant. I consider what he’s accomplished as a DJ on par with what Dilla has done as a producer. Both held tightly to their point of view and made non-believers surcome to the gospel. Take notice. Hot shit! – Jeedo Previously: Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: Little Brother – DJ Spinna [Video]
