The Proz – The Duct Tape [Video]

Hiroshima was the audio Nagasaki is the visual… Atomic impact tsunami warning flags right now. “The Duct Tape” video, which is also the title of The Proz new upcoming album produced by Nottz, is very speaking metaphorically of how they are aiming to snatch up the music scene. The Proz are extending a leg out to step forward into a word storm of lyric’s on heavy hitting beats.

The Proz – The Duct Tape [Audio]

Highly anticipated, and well worth the wait. It appears that a secret compartment has opened up. Sprouting out a branch from the diabolical “D.M.P.”(Durte Muzik Prahdukshun) is a two man duo (Big Shot & Top Gee) called The Proz. Produced by the one and only Nottz, who is infamous for dropping the hottest beats on numerous albums such as, Busta Rhymes (“Everybody Rise”), Notorious B.I.G. (“Dangerous M.C.’s”), Kanye West (“Barry Bonds”) and list goes on. The Proz are what we would consider a delicacy to one who enjoys music with lyrical content. They punch hard with words, some might say it’s unfair to have that much talent condensed into a time limit. Presently, The Proz are in the works of releasing their new project, “The Duct Tape”, leading off with the first single which is self titled “The Duct Tape”. These two guys have really did their homework on this one. At a horror tone they set the mood for slaying M.C.’s. To be a freshmen swing they are definitely presenting theirselves as senior team captains having some exclusive features on board already.

Koache feat. Xzibit, Demrick & Quan – Turn Me Back (Nottz Remix) [Audio]

Inglewood native Koache returns to one of his hottest tracks of the year, “Turn Me Back,” on this super-smooth, Nottz-produced remix featuring guest vocals from Xzibit, Demrick, and Quan. The original track appeared on Koache’s ‘Game Point’ album, which dropped this past March on LOTZAH. And it, too, featured a head nodding instrumental from Nottz, along with a strong guest verse from X-to-the-Z. But on the remix, the Virginia producer flipped his approach entirely by ditching the grit of the original track, for a jazzier, more laid-back sound. As a result, there’s a slightly somber edge to “Turn Me Back.” It’s a fitting vibe, however, because the track deals with the knowledge that no matter how much you try to change your ways, trouble will always find you. That message is driven home on the hook, where Quan croons, “I’m just tryna chill and leave the trouble behind me…” Be sure to catch Koache performing live this Saturday (Nov. 19) as part of the Hip-Hop Weekly Soundstage & Interview Suite. It goes down at 6356 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles if you’re in the area, but you can also catch it live-streaming on on HipHopWeekly’s Facebook page. Stream the remix for “Turn Me Back” and then head over to iTunes or the digital retailer of your choice to go and support Koache’s ‘Game Point’ LP, which includes features from WC, BJ the Chicago Kid, Cory Gunz and more.

Blu & Nottz – Titans In The Flesh [EP Stream]

In 2013, underground rap heavyweights Blu and Nottz teamed up for ‘Gods In The Spirit,’ one of the year’s most critically adored EPs. And upon its release, the duo made it clear they weren’t done there, but they also weren’t about to rush their follow-up. As much as fans clamored for its release, Blu and Nottz earned the ability to take their time with their sophomore effort. And that’s evident throughout ‘Titans In The Flesh,’ which builds on its predecessor and proudly stands on its shoulders. Like Gods, Titans finds the Ca-Va connection keeping things concise and cohesive. They’ve delivered six tracks of original, brand-new material that slaps and bumps as much as it pours over with lyrical brilliance. Of course, that won’t surprise any longtime fans of either artist, both of whom have been steadily making their mark since first emerging on the scene (2003 for Blu, and 1998 for Nottz). Blu and Nottz are two of the most prolific and valued cultural contributors of their respective trades, and it’s while working together that the two make some of their most triumphant and powerful music. You hear that immediately on chest-pounding opener “The Truth,” the pure funk of “Heaven on Earth,” and the beyond-slick rhyming and crazy drums of “The Man.” Speaking of “The Man,” Nottz steps to the mic as he closes out the track following a clever verse from Blu’s day one beat conductor, Exile. Elsewhere, Blu is joined on the mic by hard-hitting trio Bishop Lamont,
