Gensu Dean feat. Diamond D – Principles & Codes [Audio x Download]

Gensu Dean’s analog production is nasty, funk em up raw – a return to all things scrunch-face good. Add legendary D.I.T.C. founding member Diamond D on the mic and you know you’re about to get a lesson from two of the coldest to ever do it. “Principles & Codes” kicks in the door for Gensu Dean’s new project coming November 25th titled “RAW” that features Diamond D, Roc Marciano, Homeboy Sandman, Red Pill, J-Live, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Conway, and more. “Hard drums, dope groove, and ill bar work from my man Diamond was the main ingredient for this joint,” says Gensu. “It set the tone and standard for the rest of my album, and thus had to be the jump off!” RAW by Gensu Dean

Gensu Dean & Denmark Vessey – Whole Food [Album Stream]

Gensu Dean and Denmark Vessey hit us with their new joint project, “Whole Food”. “Whole Food” is nutrition for your mind and spirit, but it’s never pedantic or preachy. Gensu and Denmark piece together one of the loosest, most visceral records in recent memory, one that’s filled with punishing bass lines, clever asides, and astute observation. Check it out below. Taken from Gensu Dean & Denmark Vessey’s forthcoming collabo project, “Whole Food”. Pre-order here. July 29 is the date. If the words Whole Food remind you of yoga pants and hemp bracelets in a parking lot overrun by yuppies, don’t worry–you’ve come to the right place. This full-length collaboration between Gensu Dean and Denmark Vessey comes packed with all the vitamins and nutrients you could possibly need without any of the frivolous packaging. The pair’s debut as a duo on Mello Music Group imagines mugshot spreads in Newsweek and blood dripping down starched white aprons, and there are no $6 cappuccinos in sight. Gensu Dean – Algorhythms [Beat Tape]

Producer Gensu Dean has been quiet for a minute after his collaborative album with Planet Asia (Abrasions) and then his production work for 7evenThirty (The Problem). As summer starts he wanted to let his fans know where he’s been musically by offering up an all new instrumental album for free. The 25 track record is meant to be a warm up to the new material Dean has coming late in 2015 and early in 2016. For those new to Gensu Dean, the analog producer has worked with some of the industry’s greats including Large Professor, David Banner, Planet Asia, Brand Nubian and more. He gets the nod of approval on “Algorhythms” introduction from legendary Diamond D (of D.I.T.C.), DJ Joc Max, and DJ Spinna. Here’s what Gensu Dean had to say about the project: “I’ve been dealing with some “life challenges”. Things on a personal level have been super tough, like the passing of my father. The good thing is I have been able to draw up the energy, whether positive or negative and re-direct it when creating. This I am really excited about, the good, the bad, and the ugly has taken me to a new place creatively. Once I was able to get to a better place mentally, I started going through my record collection and listening…really listening. Its amazing how your frame of mind can hinder, but in my case enable, a person to hear things that were once not heard. This was the catalyst for me
