K-Def feat. A.G. (of D.I.T.C.) & Damu The Fudgemunk – Gotta Get Away [Audio]

“Gotta Get Away” is taken from K-Def’s upcoming album, “The Unpredictable Gemini”, due out January 29. About the LP: In a genre where the most pivotal and defining moments occurred over 2 decades ago according to popular to consensus, few artists have managed to consistently achieve excellence and visibly contribute from the early 90’s to present day 2000’s. With regime changes, trend cycles, and technological advancements, producer K-Def is in a class of “rare breed” artists that pridefully embody the title veteran. So much can be said about what he has accomplished throughout his 20 plus year career, but specifically in 2015, K’s output and quality have stayed atop the conversation. Building a foundation at Redefinition Records, who adopted the catchphrase “Quality Over Quantity”, is not a question of how much, but rather how good.

KRS-One, A.G. & Tragedy Khadafi – Modern Day Gangsta [Stream]

“Modern Day Gangsta” is a verbal threat, a written retaliation to the current state of corruption riddling broad levels of our systems of authority. This wake up call to the passive, launches with TRAGEDY KHADAFI drawing comparison between political domination and ruling in the streets, with the lyrical finesse of a veteran steeped in 30 years of Queensbridge history. KRS ONE returns as “The Teacha”, educating us on the infiltration of corporate America by gangster tacticians. A.G. (DITC) characterizes one of the numerous victims of police murder with a sombre hostility that draws a firm line in the pavement. Three of Hip Hop’s luminaries combine over baneful strings delivered in a landscape of energy by producer STRICKNINE (MF Grimm, Thirstin Howl, Blaq Poet) to re-establish a message that is more relevant now than ever before: “I think it’s time we all stand up”.
