Phoelix – GSPL [EP]

Posted on July 19, 2017

Chicago's Phoelix returns with his new EP, "GSPL".

Says Phoelix:

“My dad and I have a history of conflict and him just being trash to my mom. But on my birthday last year, he called me and was like, ‘Hey, you wanna go to the Virgin Islands in July?’ And the date we went was the July 17, 2016. So when we got down there, I realized that he wasn’t trying to just spend time with me and potentially reconcile our relationship. We ended up a part of this church missions trip. So naturally I was infuriated and with no other outlet I made ‘Red Beans & Rice’ in the Virgin Islands. That day was the start of this project and to drop it on this date just makes it a complete year of my life that I can release.”

Niqle Nut – CiNQO [EP]

Posted on July 14, 2017

Niqle Nut teamed up with Keanu Beats to put out a fire Summer project, and their collaborative EP, "CiNQO", is finally here.

The "CiNQO" title comes from the significance in the number 5 to Niqle Nut. Growing up on 115th street in Inglewood, California, Niqle Nut was shot 5 times before deciding it was time to turn his life around and seriously pursue music. The EP itself is also 15 minutes long, but doesn’t see a single dull moment.

The production is entirely handled by Keanu Beats, who takes experience from producing Migos hit “What The Price” and lends it to this "CiNQO" EP. From the opening track “Kill Season”, the production is balls to the wall and plays a major role in the feel of each song. Niqle Nut’s flows are as snappy and refreshing as ever, and matched with Keanu Beats he feels entirely in his comfort zone. Niqle Nut continuously proves his ability to create a larger than life presence in his music.

Overall, CiNQO is an end to end banger led by Niqle Nut’s flows and ability to paint a picture. Backed by Keanu Beats production, "CiNQO" is a serious Summer heater, and for fans of in-your-face trap, this project is not to be missed.
