Damian Marley Speaks On His Legendary Family, Growth, DMs, Working With Jay-Z & More [Video]

Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley sat in on Sway In The Morning and discussed his new solo album “Stony Hill”, genre-blending, and working on Jay-Z’s “4:44”.

“Stony Hill” is Marley’s first solo album since 2005. The tracks speak on everything from social responsibility to kicking back and enjoying yourself. He explained that he’s grown tremendously in the last 12 years. Beyond it having been over a decade, he’s now a father which gives him a new perspective on life.

When discussing his involvement on “4:44”, he revealed that he had actually come to LA to shoot a video when Ja- Z contacted him. When they met in the studio, Jay played the album for him, gave him the hook to “Bam”, and let him freestyle a few bars, which was later pieced together to become his verse on the track.
