Big Boi On Making First Million At 20 Years Old, Meeting Mobb Deep & New “Boomiverse” Album [Video]

Big Boi from the legendary hip-hop duo Outkast stopped by Sway in the Morning to talk about the group’s legacy, his solo career and new music. Fresh off his ‘Big Grams’ EP, the Southern MC dropped his third studio album ‘Boomiverse’ earlier this month. The project features the likes of Snoop Dogg, Killer Mike, Curren$y, Gucci Mane and more.

We asked Big Boi to break down some of our favorite tracks including the meaning behind “Order of Operations.” “My uncle . . . told me years ago the operation grin-and-stack. [When] you’re getting it, you need to preserve it and then later on you won’t have to do nothing . . . I’ve been on operation grind-and-stack for about 23 years now.”

The rapper also gave his take on the Tupac biopic “All Eyez on Me” and working on an Outkast film. “We are going to do it ‘cause we want to be a part of the movie and we don’t want nobody telling our story without us being in it.”
