Jidenna On Meeting Janelle Monae + Talks Mixed Nigerian & White Roots [Video]

The classic man, Jidenna makes a stop on Sway in the Morning to talk about his debut album, “The Chief”, dropping today.

Before breaking down songs off the album, Jidenna speaks on the numerical significance of the project, dedicated to his Father. From the release date, to the number of tracks on the album, everything had an important factor.

After speaking on how he met and connected with Janelle Monae, he speaks on living in Sway’s hometown of Oakland and the work he put in the city. Admitting that he moves around every few years, he compares that to the growth of his music and cultural differences in each city – and even between each nationality — thus breaking down a track off his album, called “White Ni***a.”
