Jairemie Alexander – High – Zaki Rose. Jairemie Alexander (born, September 13th 1991) began playing piano at age 5, taught by his Great Grandmother, they both play(ed) by ear. By the age of 9 Jairemie began writing songs and performing small shows and school plays along the west side of Washington State. He has been influenced by a diverse group of musicians such as Prince, Pink Floyd, Christina Aguilera and soul musicians such as Etta James, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin and Sam Cook. At the tender age of 11, Jairemie expanded his musical awareness and song mastery by playing the guitar. Today, you can find Jairemie performing his songs acoustically, accompanied by his guitar. In 2012 Jairemie won the lead non-speaking role in Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Same Love” video, which talks about the issues of gay and lesbian rights and was recorded during the campaign for Washington Referendum 74, which, when approved, legalized same-sex marriage in Washington Stage, now legalized nation wide. The song and video reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and reached number 1 in both New Zealand and Australia. The song was nominated at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards for Song of the Year. Following In 2015, Jairemie signed to Zaki Rose, managed by music industry vet and entrepreneurs, Ricardo Frazer and Wael “L” Abou-Zaki. Killer Mike Compares J. Cole To Nas & Explains Why They Deserve Grammys [Video]

Cole for not having any features on 2014 Forest Hills Drive while comparing it to Nas’ debut album, noting both artists deserve to win Grammys for their work. “He has given a cultural expectation to a group of kids who didn’t have that marker before,” Killer Mike said of J. Cole.
