Salt-N-Pepa On Opening Doors For Acts Like Nicki Minaj & Mind-Blowing “I Love The 90’s” Tour [Video]

It would be hard to imagine Nicki Minaj doing the numbers she is now and having such a massive level of success without dope female artists like Salt n Pepa kicking down some of those barriers in such a male heavy industry. Needless to say once they got that opportunity, they more than made the most of it. The iconic duo’s very first album went double platinum, worked with legendary yet still some how under appreciated at times Hurby “Love Bug” who was the man behind a lot of our favorite acts from that time like: Kid n Play and Doug E Fresh on their way to having a tremendous impact. From the jump, they were meant to stand out and never shied away especially after dropping “Showstopper” which quickly got the attention of two other greats in Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick. But, it showed that hunger to be the best very early on, it’s cool to see that same tenacity in a younger generation from our Friday Fire Cypher hyenas to Keysha Freshh, Rapsody, 3D Natee and of course Nicki who has also been able to cross effortlessly into Pop but still have something in the arsenal for fans of the BARS.

How To Roll A Blunt w/ Rich The Kid [Video]

Happy 4/20! We celebrated the occasion by rolling up with Rich The Kid. Rich The Kid hit us with Trap Talk yesterday, his long-awaited mixtape that should push him over the edge he’s been hustling on for the past year. Rich The Kid has been spotted with just about any and every rapper this past year as he proves himself to be the biggest hustler on the QC label. We’ve seen him FaceTime with Frank Ocean and Jaden Smith, link up with Lil Wayne, and he’s got notable features from Ty Dolla $ign and the elusive PartyNextDoor on the new mixtape. Dude also has quite the personality though. When he stopped by our office earlier this week, we decided to have roll up a blunt, in preparation for 4/20. Actually, we had a variety of different rolling supplies for Rich, and the idea was for him to do tutorials on various methods– however, because of the simple fact that he doesn’t fuck with Swisher Sweets and Zig-Zags are for old people (duh), we ended up just using the always-reliable and rapper-favorite, Backwoods. If you’re looking to actually learn how to roll a Backwood by watching this, though, unfortunately it might not be much help, as RTK is too slurred up to offer steps, however he does narrate through out which is entertaining regardless. If you’re planning to smoke a Backwoods today, do yourself a favor and click play on this video while you roll.
