Peanut Butter Wolf: “I Would Rather Be Less Successful In Music, Than Be A Successful Scientist” [Video]

Peanut Butter Wolf talks about his introduction to making beats, and vividly recalls putting out his first record with Lyrical Prophecy. He reminisces on working with Charizma and focusing entirely on being an artist and doing shows alongside him. Shortly after, Charizma was murdered and Wolf’s life was turned upside down. For a period of time, he completely stopped making music, but realized that music was a form of therapy for him. From that point on, he continuously worked in music, whether it was writing for a magazine, radio or working at a record store. Despite being told he wouldn’t succeed in music, he would eventually start his own record label; Stones Throw Records, with a roster full of some of hip-hop’s biggest assets.
