After 11 CunninLynguists projects, a side-group project and a slew of production credits under his belt, Kentucky’s favorite son Deacon The Villain finally unleashes his solo debut album, Peace or Power. 16 Tracks of pure unadulterated southern soul as only a triple-threat emcee/producer/singer can bring it to you. Read moreDo you remember N.A.S.A.? In 2009 they were definitely ahead of the curve with their electronic-influenced records that often featured hip-hop artists. Their first (and only) album was a who’s who of featured artists to help bridge the EDM/hip-hop gap, something which we’ve seen happen more so these days. Perhaps their most memorable record, at least in my mind, was the Kanye West, Santigold and Lykke Li-featured “Gifted.” I listened to that shit so much. The song went on to be remixed by any and everyone, but the original still goes. Well, the LA-based production duo are back! They’re working on a new album for a 2016 release, and they seem to be picking up right where they left off. Blending sounds from across the world, they once again defy a specific genre, and keeping in that theme, they’ve also recruited two differing artists for their new single. DMX and Priyanka Chopra offer vocals for “Meltdown,” which is so intense it will make you feel as though your face is literally melting off. Starting off with some heavy synths, it soon transitions into an Indian-style EDM mix, with the recently-freed DMX providing his energetic ad-libs and barks. via HNHH
