Read moreZuke Saga has matured since “King Sive”. He’s become an even stronger force and seeps into his soundscapes with even more ease. He conquers wordplay on “Megalon” over a larger range of production than before from fellow Seattle locals J’Von, E. Grady and goldenbeets. He doesn’t just ride the smooth grooving production of his comrades, but he slips and slides with a ninja-like swagger flexing nothing but his bars. Megalon by Zuke Saga

Read moreFor some time now, fans of David Banner have been anxiously awaiting his album “The God Box,” especially after the year he’s had on social media. In the past few months we’ve watched as Banner explained what needs to be done in hip-hop for the Black community while also addressing the plight of police brutality. With “The God Box, ” David Banner wants to make sure he covers every topic that should be addressed, which is why he feels it’s “one of the best hip-hop albums ever.” While trying to shorten the number of tracks on “The God Box” to 13 (because he’s “always been spiritually connected to the number”), the rapping activist is also making note of the changes being made in the hip-hop genre. “We gotta push hip-hop to another level ’cause I’m even watching lyrically – the White boys are getting more and more lyrical and we[‘re] basically mumbling,” David expresses. For that reason, he’s not “just not gon[na] throw some s*** together.” “I’ll push it all the way back. Or pull a Dr. Dre before I put some bulls*** out,” he tells DJ Smallz. “Ima be honest with you, I’m trying to do like Akon doing. Like, I’m trying to provide energy and water – I’m trying to change the situation of Black people globally. This music s*** ain’t nothing but words and beats.” Catch David Banner speak about the current state of hip-hop, his achievements in life and more in this DJ Smallz Eyes’ exclusive.
Read moreT.I. is preparing for his new album, The Dime Trap, which he teased fans about last night by posing for a photo with Jay Z and revealing Hov would be on the album. In anticipation of the album, he sat down with us to discuss how and where he’s getting his inspiration from these days, when it’s hardly believable that he’s (still) really in the trap 24/7. Tip explains it in the following way, “I’m probably a little bit closer than I’m supposed to be to the environment, but not nearly as close as I used to be. So as far as inspiration, it kinda to me feels like…an alcoholic. So if you were an alcoholic for twenty years and you quit and you stay away for 10 or 15, you still remember what it’s like to be drunk. Every day you still remember the taste, the good, the bad, the ups, the downs of it all, so you can still paint a vivid picture. And that’s how I consider my connection to that world.” In terms of trappers in Atlanta, we’re currently being inundated with them. To that effect, we asked the Kang who he actually believes as trap rapper from the South. T.I. names, “Young Jeezy, Dolph, Yo Gotti, Doe B..I think he don’t get enough credit, I guess cause his career never got the chance to take off, but he was one of the coldest. Young Dro, Dro is definitely of the environment.” He goes on to

Read moreKXNG Crooked, formerly known as Crooked I, opened up about attending the “Straight Outta Compton” premiere and his thoughts on the film. The former Death Row artist revealed that he found Suge Knight’s depiction in the film to be hilarious, especially the hand rubbing gesture they had the actor. While Crooked praised the film for its excellence, he went on to say that he couldn’t validate Suge’s character because he was not around the former record exec. during the period covered in the movie. During the conversation he also spoke about Eazy-E, and how he believes NWA’s F*** Tha Police” is still fitting today, which you can hear more about in the above clip.
