Scarface: “Dr. Dre’s Production Is So Good It Pisses Me Off” [Video]

Scarface spoke exclusively to us at VladTV about Rick Rubin’s involvement with the Geto Boys while they were signed to Def American Recordings, and the Houston rapper knew Rick wasn’t feeling his rhymes. Speaking further on the situation, Scarface explained, “I know Rick Rubin ain’t like me as a rapper. He liked Bill and Will, at least that’s what [Jay Z] told me.” The “I Seen a Man Die” emcee also spoke about how he thinks he could’ve gotten the Geto Boys’ Grip It! When DJ Vlad points out that Scarface’s group didn’t have someone like Dr. Dre, the Houston emcee admits that Dre’s production is so impressive it pisses him off. This Or That w/ Tip [Video]

Tip is the next one to play “This or That.” T.I., fresh off the release of “Da Nic” EP, played a game of “This or That” at the HNHH office. The slow-speaking Atlanta native also seemed to be in a slug-mode as he answered the “This or That” questions, nonetheless he did offer lengthier explanations for each answer than most. In this episode of “This or That,” Tip runs through a few age-old juxtapositions, like “Jordan or Lebron” and “Jay Z or Nas.” He also weighs in on a more recent debate, “Apple or Tidal,” and another one that’s pretty relevant to the generation of Millennials, “Texting or Calling.” Watch it above.

Psalm One – P.O.L.Y. (Psalm One Loves You) [Album Stream]

The first lady of Rhymesayers Ent., Chicago emcee Psalm One has shared her third studio album, “P.O.L.Y. (Psalm One Loves You)”, today via Complex. The album title alludes to the philosophy of polyamory, with Psalm One delivering playful, seductive wordplay complemented by developed production and live instrumentation. “I’m growing as a woman, as a person, and as an artist,” Psalm One told Complex when asked about her inspiration and the album’s subject matter. “As of the past year or so, I’ve been exploring polyamory. That is the practice of maintaining multiple loving relationships. It is a super challenging lifestyle, to say the least. Ups and downs, tears and joy. I have always been a serial monogamist, so my life has been turned upside down. As a result, my music has gotten more lush, and I’ve been able to open up my platform and peer group to more incredible musicians. I’m very community oriented now. Not so much into ‘scenes.’ I’m into sharing my crazy life with amazing people who deserve it.”
