Last week a few media outlets received a cryptic notice about a new project called Kanye West’s New Testament. Some simple research (and common sense), quickly revealed that the mysterious release, whatever it was, had nothing to do with Kanye, his camp or a new album. This morning the New Testament was revealed to be a fan-made, 34-minute mini-documentary featuring quotes from Kanye’s 2013 media run set to the ominous theme from There Will Be Blood and images of art, culture, sports, scenes from newsreel footage and other sources. It sounds deceptively simple, perhaps even a waste of your 34 minutes, but it’s actually a really effective way to present audio in an impactful way. Check it out above. via NR
