Nitty Scott, MC – Passive Aggressive [Stream x Download]

Oft imitated but never equaled, the DJBooth Freestyle Series ran from February 2009 through June 2011. Its 250 total entries were the work of a veritable who’s-who of underground and emerging emcees, including rising stars like Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. Now, it’s back for a second round. The 14th entry in the relaunched series comes courtesy of Nitty Scott, MC, the Brooklyn phenom who recently earned rave reviews for LP single Apex. On Passive Aggressive, the Boombox Family signee flexes her lyrical muscles over original boardwork by Scrilla Beats. Fred Lozano provides original artwork to accompany the release. Like what you’re hearing? Then keep your browsers locked for the latest on Scott’s The Art of Chill LP, slated to drop independently at a yet-undetermined date in the near future.

!llmind – Narcotic Nautilus [Stream]

This was one of the 1st “BoomTrap” beats I’ve ever made (created almost 3 years ago). Since then, it’s gone through many transitions, different song ideas with a handful of different artists. The only other person who has this beat is my homie Just Blaze. You may or may not remember him playing this beat for Blackthought to freestyle over, on the Combat Jack Show last year. I wanted to finally put this beat out, in its rawest form, for the masses to hear. Why? Because, f*ck it. Let’s keep this in the streets of NYC. – !llmind
