Read moreMemphis Bleek spoke about Jay Z and Biggie’s relationship in the music industry and also knowing each other prior to the fame in this clip from his exclusive interview with VladTV. Bleek recalled Jay and Biggie competing with one another lyrically on “Brooklyn’s Finest,” and went on to compliment Biggie for his top-notch wordplay skills. Bleek isn’t really fond of people trying to compare the two MCs because Biggie didn’t have the time to develop a body of work that can compare to Jay Z’s catalog. He also stated that Jay and Biggie knew each other prior to the fame and fortune because they were both from Brooklyn and lived similar.

When asked if he would be surprised if rap was predominantly white in the future, much like rock being predominantly black and then white, Pharoahe Monch doesn’t hesitate to say that he wouldn’t be surprised. He explains that it’s a reflection of hip-hop expanding and others being influenced by it, which is why we have more white rappers now.
