In this in-depth interview, Planet Asia takes the time to speak to us about a number of interesting topics including his humble beginnings, his influences from the East Coast and his ability to stay relevant throughout his music career. Biggie was undeniably one of the best emcees of our time. It’s only natural to honor him. Lots of djs are paying respect by creating Biggie sets or tribute mixes today but I’ll do it differently and visually. I’m mixing audio & video with a sprinkle of slicing & dicing to pay homage to the “illest…representing BK to the fullest.” This 30 minute video mix is actually a portion of a mixed DVD series I worked on with another dj but someone got real greedy. Gone but never forgotten. It’s been 16 years since the Notorious B.I.G. was tragically taken off this earth, yet his timeless music lives on. I’ve always wondered what Big would sound like rocking with some of today’s producers, which was the catalyst behind this project. I’ve taken 9 of his songs and matched them up with some of the dopest producers out now. Some noteworthy beats featured on The Notorious 9 are from Harry Fraud, No I.D., Large Professor, The Alchemist, Jahlil Beats and a few others. Along for the ride are some respected heavyweights from the industry in Datwon Thomas (Exec. Ed. Vibe Mag) Shaheem Reid (The Round Up, XXL, Shade 45), Jayson Rodriguez (The Content King, host of The BQE), Rob Markman (MTV News) and DJ Goldfinger. Fabolous Talks Michael Jordan, MTV’s Hottest MCs List, “Losos Way 2” & More [Video]

While out in Los Angeles, Fabolous made his way to Power 106 for a quick chat with Justin Credible and J Cruz. He talks about meeting Michael Jordan and the Instagram picture he put up. Then, he gives his thoughts on MTV’s Hottest MCs list and says he agrees with the 10 artists that are on it but feels the order was wrong. Fabolous also gives some details about his upcoming ‘Losos Way 2′ album. He reveals that he already has tracks with Future and Rick Ross, and is trying to secure Nas and Kendrick Lamar. He tells us that we can expect it to hit stores at the end of May.
