AGoNY & eLiMenCe – In Flight (A Tribute To Donald Bryd) [Beat Tape]

The saturday after his passing eLiMenCe & I went through his extensive catalog, sampling just a small fraction of it to create this beat tape in celebration of his life’s work, and in remembrance of the late jazz musician. We completed the EP by Saturday night and it is the only one of its kind. Donald Byrd was one of the first musicians i have ever sampled over 10 years ago, as a 14 year old kid. He is a legend in the hip hop world sampled time and time again by anybody from Nas, A tribe called quest, Large Professor, Common, Pete Rock and 2Pac to Action Bronson, Smoke Dza & SlaughterHouse, as well as collaborating with the late Guru of Gang Starr on the Jazzmatazz series.
