Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: House Shoes – Dooinit [Video]

Bling47 Breaks takes you on a journey into samples used by J Dilla. Filmed, edited and animated and directed by Waajeed. There are many claims about Dilla. Some say he was one of the greatest producers ever. In the case of this episode of Bling47 Breaks these claims may hold to be true. Common’s, “Dooinit” was one of the best tracks on his 1998 release Like Water For Chocolate. As explained by @Houseshoes none other than Dilla could have chopped this break so greatly. Dilla told me himself that he used Rick James, “Give It To Me Baby” but it never made sense until Shoes showed me how he did it. FUCKING AMAZING!. You can totally hear Pete Rocks influence on his sparse use of the piano stabs until the chorus. We called him Dilla Rock on at this time. HAHA. Much thanks to Shoes for all his insight this month. It was a long time coming but we managed to get you up here. Over this past year I watched those who you have put before yourself curse your name. Regardless of the nay sayers and blatant smear campaigns against you, your contributions to Dilla, Slum, myself and Detroit are recognized and appreciated at Bling47. SALUTE. Talk is cheap, please go purchase #LETITGO and follow Houseshoes on Twitter and Facebook. Enjoy. – Jeedo Previously: Bling47 Breaks Dilla Edition: House Shoes – Ruff Draft Intro [Video]
